Greasy Grass is a psychedelic pop quartet from Portland, Maine, USA. Their music is a shifting combination of unbridled psychedelia, vintage saccharine softness, loose garage groove, karaoke bar melodrama, razor sharpness, effortless passivity, and film score grandiosity.
Until 2021, when they solidified their current four-piece lineup, the band existed in an amorphous form for many years, at times resembling more of an art project, bedroom recording project, or party rather than a proper band. Around this time, they released their debut EP Abject Luxuria, recorded with engineer Jerry Streeter just before March of 2020 and unfortunately shelved for obvious reasons. The sessions produced two music videos: one for Century Gothic, made by the band themselves, and the other directed and produced by internet oddball legend and hero Phil Thomas Katt.
The group is currently booking shows around the northeast US and working tirelessly on their full-length debut album(s!).
